Her golden blonde hair swayed fluently in sync as she graced the stage in her sleek black dress that trailed behind. The spotlights made her eyes glisten and her skin to seem as smooth as silk. She instantly captivated the audience, especially JC, who in one moment, believed in love at first sight.

"Are you okay, man?" Chris looked at him strangely. "You better close your mouth before you start drooling."

"What's her name again?" he asked without taking his eyes off of her.

"Holly O'Brien. Didn't you ever hear of her before?"

JC turned away from his stare for a moment to look at Chris. "Not that I know of. Should I have?"

"She was in that movie last year, what was it called?" he stopped to think.

"Yesterday's Letter." Justin interrupted from on the other side of JC.

"Yeah, yeah, that's it. Yesterday's Letter." Chris nodded as if he knew all along.

JC looked at her again as she announced the nominees to the category. "Oh, never saw it."

"It wasn't that big of a movie. It's her first movie I think." Chris added.

Justin leaned in again. "I heard she is going to be in another one. I think they are almost done wrapping that up. Don't know what it is called though. It's supposed to come out later this year. Should be a big one for her this time around."

"How do you guys know all this stuff and I don't?" JC shrugged.

Chris snickered. "You need to get out more. You sleep too much."

"Should we hook you up?" Justin teased.

"No, come on..." he stopped as Holly started to talk again.

"And the winner for best pop artist or group is...." she exclaimed as she started to open the envelope.

Justin's girlfriend, Emily, brushed her dark blonde hair behind her as she leaned around Justin. "Don't worry, I'll hook you up."

Holly read the envelope and paused. "*NSYNC!"

The crowd cheered and the fans screemed from up top. Those associated with the label stood up to congratulate them and to walk them to the aisle. The guys confidently walked to the stage. Their nerves were calm since they were so used to winning and being on stage. The guys let JC walk in front of them to accept the award from Holly. He blushed as they met eye to eye and then stood at the podium. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed Chris whispering something to her and he turned around and grabbed him to the podium. Chris gave him a wink as they made their acceptance speech and then made their way off backstage.

"Hi." Holly said from behind JC as they lingered around backstage.

"Oh, uh, hi." JC studdered bashfully as he turned around.

"I heard you never saw my movie."

JC looked to the ground. "Uh, no. Sorry, I haven't."

She playfully put her hand on his arm. "That's ok. I'll let ya slide this time but you better watch it a.s.a.p."

JC smiled confidently in return from her friendliness. "I will, I promise."

They were interrupted briefly by the sound of *NSYNC's queue by the frantic show coordinators to get ready to go on stage to perform. They redirected their attention back to each other quickly to get in one last word. "I better let ya go." Holly added.

"Uh, yeah." JC looked back as the guys started to group up without him. "So, I'll talk to you again sometime I hope?"

"Sure, why not? I'll be at the afterparty tonight. We can meet up there."

JC replied quickly. "Ok. See ya there then."

"JC, c'mon!" Lance yelled from a distance. "We're on in five!"

"Bye." Holly finished as she turned and walked away.

"Bye." he replied and quickly went the other way.

The ballroom was already packed with people as the guys arrived with bodyguards in tow. They had dressed down a bit and were ready to mingle with celebrities and invited media.

"So, did Holly say she was going to be here?" Chris asked as they walked towards the buffet table.

"Yup." JC bluntly replied as he tried to scan the huge room for any sight of her.

The others gathered up behind them and picked at the meat trays that aligned the long tables. "Are you sure you don't want me to put in a few good words for ya?" Emily volunteered.

"No, that's okay. I think I can handle this on my own."

Emily shrugged as she held onto Justin's arm. "Ok then. Good luck." she finished as she and Justin walked into the crowd.

JC mingled for another fifteen minutes before he caught sight of Holly, who had changed into a dressy spaghetti strap tank top and a short skirt. He took a double-take look at her as if he didn't recognize her the first time. She was dressed more casually now and her hair was now twisted in many different ways as if it was created in a dream by a gifted designer.

"Hey." he said as he finally met up with her. "I've been looking for you everywhere."

She smirked as she grabbed a glass of Chardonnay off of a passing by waiter. "Oh yeah? Am I that hard to find?"

"Obviously. You seem to be the life of the party."

"Yeah right." she snuffed as she took a sip of the bubbling alcohol. "Hardly anyone knows me. Maybe that's why I hide most of the time."

JC paused as he looked at her again. "You look nice."

"Uggh, you think I look nice in these old clothes?" she said as she looked down at her skirt.

"You don't give yourself alot of credit, do you?" he asked as he shook his head.

She looked back up at him and continued. "Well, I'm not the kind that lets my celebrity status get to my head. I don't have tons of cool clothes, I'm not really popular, I don't look like a supermodel, my skin is dry, my hair is fried, and my mother still stops by to babysit me sometimes."

JC laughed lightly at her sarcasm. He liked her casualness and straight forward personality. At first she seemed snobby to him, but, he noticed that his first impression of her was the total opposite.

"Hey, at least your honest. I like that about you." he tried to smooth in a few compliments.

Holly put her glass back down on a table and grabbed a dinner mint. "Oh, you like that about me, huh? You don't know much about me though."

JC blushed a bit as he tried to get on her good side. "I'd like to learn more if you'd let me."

Holly snickered as if she had heard that line before. "How do I know that you just dont want to get down my pants? I mean, c'mon you don't even wanna see my movie."

"I want you." JC studdered and than instantly blushed again at his mistake. "Sorry, I mean I want to."

Holly rolled her eyes and sighed. "Yeah."

"Ok then." JC nervously replied as he noticed the conversation and his chances with her were going nowhere.

"Hey, I see someone I know, I'll meet you around sometime." she added as she kept her eyes positioned across the room.

"Well, can I get your number or something?" he replied hastefully, hoping to get some information before she ran away.

She walked around JC and turned back. "Don't look for me, I'll find you."

JC sighed at her stubborness. "Are you always this difficult with men?"

She smiled for the first time since they met up. "Only when I like them." she finished and blended back into the crowd.

"Holly O'Brien, you are definately the queen of hard to get." he said to himself as he shook his head and lingered off to find the rest of the guys.

2: A Thousand Daydreams

"I Want You"
Lyrics by Savage Garden

Anytime I need to see your face,
I just close my eyes
And I am taken to a place where
your crystal mind and
Magenta feelings take up shelter
in the base of my spine
Sweet like a chic-a-cherry cola

I don't need to try and explain:
I just hold on tight
And if it happens again, I might
move so slightly
To the arms and lips and the
face of the human cannonball
That I need to, I want to

Come stand a little bit closer
Breathe in and get a bit higher
You'll never know what hit you
When I get to you

Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out
Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out

I'm the kind of person
who endorses
a deep commitment
Getting comfy getting perfect
is what I live for
But a look, then a smell of perfume
It's like I'm down on the floor
And I don't know what I'm in for

Conversation has a time and a place
In the interaction of a lover
and a mate,
But the time of talking
using symbols, using words
Can be likened to a deep sea diver
who is swimming with a raincoat

Come stand a little bit closer
Breathe in and get a bit higher
You'll never know what hit you
When I get to you

Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out
Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out

Anytime I need to see your face,
I just close my eyes
And I am taken to a place where
your crystal mind and
Magenta feelings take up shelter
in the base of my spine
Sweet like a chic-a-cherry cola

I don't need to try and explain:
I just hold on tight
And if it happens again,
I might move so slightly
To the arms and the lips and
the face of the human cannonball
That I need to, I want to

Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out
Ooh, I want you
I don't know if I need you
But, ooh, I'd die to find out
So can we find out?
