Chapter 3

"Ashley!" Haley yelled as she ran across the floor, hoping she would hear her over the loud music.

"Who's that?" Justin asked with a strange expression on his face.

Ashley looked over to where he was pointing as Haley neared the table. "Justin this is Haley."

Haley cordially sat herself down beside him. "You're Justin Timberlake, right?"

"Yeah, since the last time I checked anyways." he laughed.

"Oh my God! I can't believe I am sitting here beside you!"

Justin looked at the five girls surrounding him and smirked. "The pleasure is all mine, believe me."

"So, are you staying in town?"

"Yeah, for a little while." he paused. "And don't ask me where because I'm not telling."

Haley flirted with him as she put her hand on his arm. "Aww, come on, you can tell me."

"Haley, stop buggin'!" Ashley defended his privacy.

"Geez, fine!" Haley replied with an attitude and finally let someone else talk.

"So, Justin," Christina jumped in as she finally sat down beside Ashley. "What are you doing in town?"

"Business." he replied bluntly.

"How long are you staying?"

"A couple months."

"Well, you don't like to talk much do you?" Christina joked.

Justin laughed. "Yeah I do, sorry, just don't like to talk about work when I'm out having fun."

"So, where are the rest of the guys?" Cassie asked.

"They're around."

"Ok then." she exaggerated. "I think I'm gonna go find something to do."

"Me too." Miranda jumped in as she followed Cassie.

"So, Justin," Haley moved in to him a little closer. "Did you wanna dance?"

"Would you leave him alone?" Ashley demanded.

"It's okay." Justin reassured her.

"Well?"

"Sure." he said quickly. "Let's go."

Haley's face lit up like a Christmas tree as he took her hand and led her out on the floor. Ashley's face lit up like a red light and her expression became that of an angry bull.

"You can't tell me you are mad?" Christina asked.

"Why wouldn't I be? She came over here and just barged in on us."

"Well, you just met him. It's not like it was personal."

"True. But, I hope we don't have to share all the guys we meet with our sisters."

"I'm telling ya. There is more to this then what we know."

"I sure hope we know what we're doing."

Christina sighed and then changed the subject. "He is hot though."

"Who?"

"Justin, duh!" she laughed.

"Oh! Well, yeah, a little bit."

"A little bit my ass! He is so fine!"

"Come on!"

"Seriously, I wish I would have walked to the end of the dark alleyway for that!"

"You know, I didn't even know it was him right away."

"How could you have not known?"

"I didn't until he told me his name."

Christina's mouth dropped. "Girl, you must have been in the dark way too long!"

Ashley paused as she looked out at the dancefloor. Haley was grinding very close to Justin and he seemed to enjoy it. "Way too long is right." she said silently to herself.

The next morning arrived bright and early to the loud knocking on the Gamma House door. Ashley and Christina decided to stay over at the house and had crashed on the living room couches.

"I'm coming!" Ashley yelled as she yawned. She pulled the long t-shirt that she had worn for a night gown back down over her hips and stumbled into the foyer. She pushed her scuffled and messed up hair back behind her ears as she opened the door.

"Hey!"

"Justin!" she exclaimed and then slammed the door in his face.

He knocked again. "Hello? Ashley?"

"Uh," she mumbled. "Give me a minute!"

"Who's that?" Christina asked from the other couch as she finally awakened from the noise.

"It's Justin. I look like shit and I just closed the door in his face!"

"Well thats a good way to start the day. Maybe next time you should just hit him."

"Haha! I have to go get changed. Since you never care what you look like, keep him company until I come back. And, make sure you don't wake anyone up!"

"I don't care what I look like? Now, that's harsh!"

"C'mon, please?"

Christina grumbled as she left the comfort of her warm blankets. "Yes captain!"

Ashley returned a few moments later and joined Justin outside.

"I'm going back to bed. Have fun." Christina said as she closed the door behind her.

"Sorry about that a few minutes ago. I just wanted to be a little more presentable."

"That's cool. I understand."

"So, how did you know where I was at?" she asked as they both walked down the walkway.

"Haley told me where your sorority house was so I decided to look for it."

"Oh, uh, now I really feel stupid." she started to blush.

"Why?" he asked as he stopped walking.

"Well, you came here looking for Haley and I just decide to come out and talk to you."
"Actually," he paused as they looked eye to eye. "I did come here for you."

Ashley sighed with relief, glad that she didn't make a fool out of herself. "Really?"

"Of course, why not?"

"Well, you were with Haley most of the night so I figured...."

"You figured wrong." he interrupted.

"So, what made you hunt me down?"

"I wanted to know more about you. You seem really nice, understanding, sweet."

"Ok, ok." she blushed. "What's wrong with Haley that you don't like her?"

He continued walking as he neared his car. "She is nice and all but a little too wild for me."

"Too wild? I wouldn't imagine you as liking any other kind."

Justin smirked. "Hey now, let's not dish out all my secrets just yet."

"Ok then. Just as long as I get the chance in the future." she flirted a little.

"Well, if you hop in my car right now then maybe I can tell you a bit."

"You got a deal Timberlake!" she smiled as she opened the door.

"Now, see, that's sexy." he laughed as he hopped in the car.

Ashley rolled her eyes and laughed with him as they pulled away from the Gamma House and drove back into town.

"Where's Ash?" Haley asked as the other sisters woke up about an hour later.

"She's out with Justin." she mumbled as she drifted in between sleep.

"Justin?" she paused. "Why is he with her?"

Christina unconciously responded, "Because he likes her."

Haley stomped over to her and shook her hard enough to get her fully awake. "How do you know that?"

Christina huffed as she sat up, now fully awake. "Because he told me."

"When?"

"This morning when he showed up."

"Did he mention me?" she said as her eyes became wider with inquizition.

"Nope."

"Not once."

She paused before she answered her. "No. He likes Ash. He is interested in her so he was asking about her. He seems to be crazy about her already. Any more questions?"

"You better not be messin' with me!" she started to get mad.

"I'm not messin' with you, I'm just telling you how it is."

"You know, you two are running on thin ice with this sorority!" she exlaimed as she started to walk away.

"Why? Because you can't stand when someone else has something that you want but you can't have?"

Haley didn't bother to answer the truth in the question but instead stomped her way back out into the foyer where she was met by Miranda.

"Now you know how I feel. Just once you can finally understand!"

"What are you talking about?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Everytime I am in the same position you are in now, I am just a stupid bitch, right?"

"You aren't even going out with Jeff, nor has he ever been interested in you. And, if you think your little one night stand with him when you first got here counts for anything, it doesnt. In fact he probably doesn't even remember it."

She wanted to call her names or even slap her but she remained calm. "You are the last one to talk. You ain't shit to Justin either. He isn't interested in you enough to even get a play in bed from."

"Oh yea." she smirked to herself. "We'll see about that!" she pushed her way around Miranda and walked back up the stairs.

"Why am I defending you Ashley?" she said to herself. "You are gonna owe me big time."

Miranda sighed as she noticed Christina standing in the doorway to the living room. She gave her an evil glare and walked away.
