An incoming thunderstorm boomed in the distance, waking Holly from her sleep. She looked at the clock which read 3:30 a.m. as she got up out of bed. The hardware floors creaked underneath her feet as she made her way to the living room.

JC was still laying on the couch, sound asleep, as lightning lit up the room. His blanket had fallen on the floor and he was curled up as if he was cold. Holly covered him back up and sat on the floor beside him once again.

"Jace?" she whispered, trying to wake him up.

"Hmmm?" he mumbled with his eyes still closed.

"Jace?" she repeated as she rubbed her hand over the one side of his face and brushed the lengthy hair out of his eyes.

He opened his eyes slowly and looked at her as she was illuminated by the lightning. "Is something wrong?"

"No. I just wanted to wake you so that you could be more comfortable in your bed instead of waking up stiff from this couch." she joked lightly.

"Thanks." he yawned as he sat up.

"Anytime." she said in a soft, seductive sounding tone as she leaned forwards toward him, putting her hand on his knee.

"I didn't know it was supposed to rain." JC said, changing the subject.

"Uh, me either." she sighed as she stood up and walked back towards the hallway.

JC jumped up from the couch and followed after her. "Holly!"

"What?" she asked as she kept walking.

"What do you want from me?" he chased behind her.

"You know what I want!" she raised her voice lightly as she entered back into her room.

"You want what I can't give you." he replied as they stood face to face as she turned around at the end of the bed.

"Oh, I think you can. You're just in denial about how you feel."

"What makes you think I'm in denial?" he questioned.

"Because you were the one chasing me, remember? You told me that you cared about me and that you wanted to be with me. If you are afraid of being hurt then you will never be happy." she asked as they both continued to argue in the dark.

"I am happy. You being here makes me happy." he confessed.

"Well then what are you waiting for?"

JC snickered lightly. "I'm not waiting for anything."

Holly seductively dropped her night gown to the floor. "Prove it."

JC grinned as he grabbed her and kissed her passionately. She broke away and dropped herself backwards down on the bed. JC leaned down over top of her and kissed her again as the thunder cracked much closer, bringing the rain crashing down over the house.

The morning sunshine awoke Holly from her sleep, making her roll over to the other side of the bed. She brushed her hand over the empty sheets where she remembered where JC was laying. She leaned up and looked around the room but only noticed the door that was wide open.

"Jace?" she called out as she got up, put her robe on and walked out towards the hallway.

JC stood in the kitchen with his back towards her and did not reply.

"JC?" she questioned again as she walked up behind him.

He acted like she was invisible and that he could not hear her. He walked past her and went into the living room without saying a word.

"Why are you ignoring me?" she exclaimed as she forcefully turned him around to face her.

"Sorry. I have alot on my mind." he snapped at her as he sat down on the couch.

"Like what? What's wrong?" she asked as she sat down beside him.

JC took a deep breath before he started. "Last night. That's what's wrong."

"Whadya mean?"

"Can we just act like it never happened?" he replied.

"Are you serious? What do you mean act like it never happened?" she yelled as she started to become defensive.

JC looked her in the eye. "It was a mistake."

"How could it be a mistake. We were both there. We both made the decision to do what we did." she said as she stood up.

"Well we both did it for different reasons." he confessed.

"What do you mean?" she asked as she put her hands on her hips.

JC stood up and looked at her. "You did it because you love me. I did it because, well, it just felt right at the time."

"Your a pig, you know that? I can't believe you would use me like that just to satisfy your own needs!" she exclaimed as tears started to form.

"It's not like that." he denied.

"You say you care about me and that you want to be with me but yet you dont even want to be seen with me out of this house!"

"That's not true."

"You don't want to be seen with a jailbird, loser actress or your whole pretty perfect world will come crashing down and you wont have thousands of little girls worshiping the ground you walk on thinking that you are God!" she cried.

JC looked to the floor. "I don't know what to say."

"You're ashamed of me."

"I never said that." he added.

Holly smirked. "Yeah, and I never said that I loved you either!"

"You didn't have to. I could tell everytime you touched me and in ever kiss you gave me last night." he grinned.

Tears started to fall out of Holly's eyes. She felt like her whole world had not only crashed but had fallen six feet under. "You know what? I fucking hate you!" she cursed as she ran back down the hall.

"Holly!" JC yelled after her but was met with the response of a slamming door in his face.

"I don't know what the hell to do." JC sighed as he talked to Justin in the break room at the studio about 7 hours later.

"Well, I thought you would have been with her by now. I mean, you were obsessed with her since the first time you laid eyes on her and now she is living in your house. You two should have been hooked up a long time ago." Justin added as he played with his empty water bottle.

"I didn't tell you everything, J. It's more complicated than me not wanting to be with her because of all this media stuff."

"Ok? What am I missing?" he questioned.

JC looked down at his feet as he stared at the floor. "Something happened. It just got way out of control."

Justin's eyes opened wide. "Something as in..."

"Yeah." JC interrupted.

"Oh shit." Justin cursed. "Man, you gotta go and fix things. You can't just pull somethin like that and then put up a wall between your emotions."

JC smirked. "Look who's talkin."

"Yo, this aint about me. I know you, Jace. You're not the kind to act like a player and mess with people's feelings like that. You need to stop shutting her out just because of her past history and start dealing with how you feel." he demanded.

"Wise words, old man." JC joked lightly.

"Seriously. You care about her right?"

"Yeah, of course." JC looked at him.

"Do you love her?"

JC sighed. "More than she knows."

"Well then. You need to go tell her that before its too late and you lose her for good."

"I don't know if I can fix this." JC said as he stood up.

"The only way you will know is if you try. Now go!" Justin exlaimed.

JC shook his head in agreement and made his way back to his house.

JC quickly got back home and ran into the house searching for Holly but was only met by silent and dark emptiness.

"Holly!" he yelled as he ran through the hallway and into the living room. No one replied as he looked towards her bedroom door.

The closet was empty and so were the dressers. The bed was made nicely and a single piece of paper layed between the two pillows. JC read the paper which wrote that she had left for good and he shouldn't look for her.

A million thoughts ran through his mind as he was frantic on not losing her. He quickly ran back out the house and into his SUV. He raced to the nearest airport, hoping that she was there and that he would not be too late.

In about five minutes he pulled up to the busy airport. He didn't have anything to disguise himself with and decided to risk getting mauled in the process of searching for her. He ran through the lobby's, searching plane lines and waiting areas.

Then he saw her, standing in an almost empty waiting area, staring out the window. She looked as if she were a million miles away as dried tears stained her face.

"Holly!" JC yelled to her. She turned and looked at him and was about ready to walk the other way.

"What are you doing here? I told you not to look for me!" she yelled at him.

"I had to find you. I couldn't let you leave." he said as he finally got up to her.

"Go away JC!"

"Where were you planning on going?" he questioned.

"Anywhere but here." she replied as she looked back to the window.

"You can't leave." he pleaded as he put his hand on her arm.

"Why not? There is nothing here for me."

"I'm here." he said softly.

"So. You're nothing to me." she snapped at him.

"You know that's not true."

"You're right but you shouldn't be." she said as she looked back at him.

"I know you are mad at me, I know I was a jerk about this whole situation but I want to make it up to you. Please stay with me." he asked as he looked in her sad eyes.

"Why would I want to stay with someone that I care about but who doesn't care about me in return?" she questioned.

"I never said I didn't care."

"You don't want me. Why did you even come after me?" she sighed as she turned away.

"I do want you. I love you, Holly." he confessed.

Holly turned around and looked at him. "You only love me when we are away from people."

"You want me to prove it? I'll yell it for the whole world to hear." he insisted.

"Oh no, JC, don't..." she tried to stop him but was interrupted.

"I love Holly O'Brien!" JC shouted throughout the airport. The area around them became suddenly quiet and everyone in their vicinity stared at them.

"Oh my God. You are so embarrasing, Jace." she said as she covered her face. "I can't believe you did that."

"Sorry, but I love you and I don't care who knows it. I want to be with you and I want you to stay. I'm not leaving here until you come back with me." he said sternly with a smile.

Holly sighed. "I don't know, JC."

"You love me don't you?" he asked.

"You know I do." she replied.

"Then please forgive me." he begged as he got down on his knees.

"Ok, geez, get up." she said as she grinned at the people who still stared at them.

"So, you are coming back with me?" he said as he stood back up.

"Yes, please, let's get out of here." she said as her cheeks were now flushed.

A bunch of kids a few feet away noticed JC's face and charged towards them. JC and Holly looked at each other with a smile and turned the other way. Running quickly out of the airport, they made their way back to a place they both could finally call home.

The End

"Ordinary Day"
Lyrics by Vanessa Carlton

just a day, just an, ordinary day
just trying to get by
just a boy, just an, ordinary boy
he was looking to the sky and
as he asked if I would come along
I started to realize that everyday he finds just what he's looking for
and like a shooting star he shines, and he said

take my hand, live while you can
don't you see your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand

and as he spoke he spoke ordinary words
though they did not feel
for I felt what I had not felt before
and you'd swear those words could heal and
as I looked up into those eyes, his vision borrows mine
and I know he's no stranger
for I feel I've held him for all of time, and he said

take my hand, live while you can
don't you see your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand

please come with me, see what I see
touch the stars for time will not flee
time will not flee cant you see...

Just a dream, just an ordinary dream
as I wake in bed
and that boy that ordinary boy
was it all in my head?
didn't he ask if I would come along
it all seemed to real but as i looked to the door
i saw that boy standing there with a deal and he said

take my hand, live while you can
don't you see your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand

just a day, just an ordinary day
just trying to get by
just a boy, just an ordinary boy but
he was looking to the sky
